It was all
a dream.
What happens when a tech engineer and gardener and an artist, designer and marketer fall in love? Good food and wine of course and the ability to put two minds together to solve a myriad of problems. We wanted to grow our own food and live away from city life. We wanted to slow down. What we didn’t know was that in our desire to live a more simple life we would discover permaculture.
Our permaculture journey has taken us down many paths and we started it growing herbs in pots on apartment balconies. As our life and family grew so did our gardens.
Now we are on our biggest challenge yet. How to transform abused and degraded land, much of it lawn (green desert) into a thriving food forest eco-system? How do we sustain our family and help our community with food security and common sense solutions? How do we thrive in a system that bases all on extraction and profit for the few and leaves the rest of us behind? We hope to find the physical solutions to these questions as we change our lifestyle. So, we are taking it one step at a time, little by little, plant by plant. We are increasing diversity and habitat and having a hell of a lot of fun doing it even though the learning curves can be steep and our backs may be sore.
Thanks for stopping by and welcome to Snake Hill Permaculture!
